Position Summary
UNM-Taos'Fine Arts Department has a Lecturer III, 9 month position to teach a lower division (1000-2000level) courses in the Fine Arts inclusive of Art Studio, Art History, andgraphic design courses in the UNM-Taos catalog.
Responsibilities include, butare not limited to teaching 9 credit hours per semester, with 6 credits reassigned for Chairtraining, service, and professional development. This position serves as the "Interim Chair" of the Fine Arts Department for the academic year2025-2026.Faculty duties include development and evaluation ofcurricula, serving on campus committees, mentoring, attending faculty meetings,participating in departmental activities and other related duties consistentwith the role of community college faculty member

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Terminal degree in the discipline or subfield in whichthey are applying to teach.Applicant must have completed a programof study in the discipline or subfield in which they teach, withcoursework at least one level above that of the courses being taught ordeveloped (e.g., completed a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in thediscipline or subfield in which they teach or tested experience that isdetermined to be equivalent to the degree).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Teaching experience in a post-secondary institution,particularly community college experience.
- Successful experience in practice or field work (ifapplicable).
- A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity,inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diversecommunities.
- Commitmentand flexibility working with and supporting students with broad and diverselearning styles and levels of academic achievement.
