You will be responsible for troubleshooting issues and fixing them aiming for maximum reliability and functionality. An excellent auto mechanic has good eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity. They are well-versed in complex mechanical or electronic systems of vehicles and have excellent problem-solving abilities. They must be good communicators to provide detailed solutions to managers and supervisors.Essential Job Responsibilities:Inspect vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accuratelyInspect vehicle computer and electronic systems to repair, maintain, and upgradeConduct routine maintenance work (replacing fluids, lubricating parts, etc.) aiming at vehicle functionality and longevitySchedule future maintenance sessions and advise management and users on good vehicle useRepair or replace broken or dysfunctional parts and fix issues (e.g. leaks)Provide accurate estimates (cost, time, effort) for a repair or maintenance jobKeep logs of work and issuesMaintain equipment and tools in good conditionPersonal Skills:Certification from a vocational school or completion of an apprenticeship is a mustProven experience as an auto mechanicExcellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic components of vehiclesWorking knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and methodsAbility to handle various tools and heavy equipment (e.g. lift)Qualifications/Knowledge:Willingness to observe all safety precautions for protection against accidents, dangerous fluids, chemicals etc.Excellent physical conditionA high school diploma is preferred.Valid certification (e.g ASE) is a definite plusAbility to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and evenings.Work Environment: Taos Ski Valley, Inc. is often a fast-paced work environment, especially during holidays and Peak days. TSVI is located in a high-altitude alpine environment. Position may require travel on uneven, snow-packed, or icy terrain and may be exposed to wet, cold, and/or humid conditions.
