Ski Rental Technician
Ski Rental Technicians are responsible for fitting customers with rental equipment including skis, snowboards, and boots. A successful technician will provide excellent customer service, have attention to detail with all tuning and adjustments, and will maintain a positive attitude in a demanding environment. Technicians must be able to work as a team with the rest of the rental and retail department.
Base Pay: Starts at $16/hr depending on experience
Location: Slopeside Ski Shop

Job Category: Winter seasonal - full time, part time or holiday only
Leadership Responsibilities: No
Required Certs or Licenses: Marker Ski Binding Certification (can be obtained within the first few days of employment).
Attendance: Regular, predictable, punctual, and in-person attendance is essential, includes weekends and holidays as scheduled
Estimated start date: Early December
Minimum Age: 18
Typical Shift: 8am-5pm but night shift schedules may be available as well
Qualifications: Prior rental shop experience is a plus; however, training will be provided.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

- Answers questions concerning cost of items, features of items, resort activities, hours of operation, weather conditions, etc.
- Ensures that guests accurately complete the waiver of liability and rental forms.
- Selects proper rental skis for guests based on their needs.
- Sets binding DINS according to binding manufacturer's requirements.
- Checks in returned rental skis and inspects for damage.
- Tracks, stores, and maintains the organization of tools, parts, and inventory.
- Works with power tools.
- Properly uses and maintains ski tuning machinery according to manufacturer's specifications.
- Maintains cleanliness of the shop and proper storage of all equipment.
- Routinely tests bindings for safety (torque test) and records information in maintenance logs.
- Repairs and maintains rental fleet including periodic tuning of all skis.
- Repairs skis and snowboards including: applying P-Tex on gouges and scratches, applying base patches, beveling, edge replacements and de-laminations.
- Becomes knowledgeable on proper wax selection and how to mount a vast array of bindings.
- Appropriately handles complaints and resolves grievances to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Assists customers with electronic storage lockers when necessary.
- Assists Manager in special projects and facility maintenance.
Environment: This is an indoor position. Must be able to stand for long periods of time and regularly lift/carry 50lbs.
